Art of living Gourmet Luberon

The art of dining in the Luberon

What is our art of dining in the Luberon? First, refined, fragrant Provençal cuisine with warm notes. Then, a convivial table, full of good humour and smiles.

Gastronomy and flavours of the Luberon

Where to begin? As you know, the flavours of our region are many, all equally delicious and pleasing to the palate… With a rich rural terroir, abundant agriculture and generous sunshine that gives our products that little extra, Provençal cuisine is truly emblematic.

How about tasting:

our traditional olive tapenade recipe

olive oil, the ambrosia of Provence, the pure essence of the fruit

a bowl of soupe au pistou with fresh vegetables

our candied fruits, skilfully used in pastries

Of course, we could tell you even more about the gastronomy and flavours of the Luberon, but it would be unfair to make your mouth water like this, wouldn’t it? Why not come and taste it for yourself? Our delicious products will delight your taste buds and our atmosphere will warm your heart.

Ah! Still not convinced? Let us describe this gentle and very special atmosphere that reigns in the Luberon, in the heart of Provence.

Atmosphere Provence & softness

The Provençal art of living

The white tablecloth flutters gently, a small bouquet of lavender decorates the table, and behind the laughter you can discreetly hear the sound of glasses clinking, filled with a nectar straight from our surrounding vineyards.

Throughout the meal, one homemade dish follows another, grilled vegetables are sprinkled with thyme and rosemary, generously seasoned with olive oil and enhanced with our finest local products. For dessert, it is the Cavaillon melon, the juiciest and tastiest, that will be served to guests, who will enjoy every bite.

The art of dining in the Luberon is fully part of the art of living in our lovely corner of Provence. And to perfect the lunch and enjoy it to the fullest… go take a nap in the shade of the tall trees.

In the evening, you light candles whose glow illuminates the colour of the wine in the stemmed glasses. As night falls, scents intensify and the delicately fragrant smell of honeysuckle surrounds you. In these simple yet magical moments, there is no doubt: you are experiencing the Provençal art of living in the Luberon.

Wine tourism Luberon wines

Discovering the wines of the Luberon

What would gastronomy and flavours of the Luberon be without mentioning its wines, which are among the finest expressions of the art of dining in the region? For the perfect food and wine pairing, let us explore the wines of the Luberon and Ventoux. Reds, rosés and whites: the Luberon offers every shade of wine.

As a region of wine excellence, the Luberon is proud to boast three protected designations of origin (PDO): Luberon, Ventoux and Pierrevert. These appellations highlight high-quality local expertise recognised within the European Union. We also have the controlled designation of origin (AOC) Luberon, recognised at national level.

Among the wines of the Rhône Valley, our crus are distinctive: they benefit from abundant sunshine combined with cooler night-time temperatures. As a result, the grapes ripen more slowly. This characteristic, combined with light, often sandy soils and a thousand-year-old wine-growing expertise, gives rise to unique wines.

Travel through the Luberon region, recognised as a biosphere reserve and geopark, through its wines on a wine tourism journey made of unique tasting experiences as well as original wine-themed activities.
